DISASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

<<A>> LOCK NUT REMOVAL

1.Using special tool fuel tank cap wrench (MB992202), remove the lock nut of fuel pump and gauge assembly.

<<B>> FUEL PUMP AND GAUGE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

caution

Pay attention not to damage the fuel gauge unit and the float of the fuel pump and gauge assembly when removing the fuel pump and gauge assembly from the fuel tank.

note

When the fuel pump and gauge assembly is replaced, remove the retainer from the pipe and then assemble the retainer into the connector.

REASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

caution

Pay attention not to damage the fuel gauge unit and the float of the fuel pump and gauge assembly when installing it to the fuel tank.
When installing the fuel pump and gauge assembly to the fuel tank, check that the fuel gauge unit moving area moves smoothly.

>>B<< LOCK NUT INSTALLATION

In the same manner as removal, use special tool fuel tank cap wrench (MB992202) to install the lock nut of fuel pump and gauge assembly.
Tighten the lock nut so that its marking is within the shown range.
