Code No.C2206 Re-execution of variant coding

caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be stored. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ).
  • Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.
  • When diagnosis code No.C2206 is stored in ASC-ECU, the diagnosis code may also be stored in ETACS-ECU. When the diagnosis code is stored in ETACS-ECU, carry out the diagnosis of the diagnosis code for ETACS-ECU first.
  • When the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) is replaced, always carry out the calibration of the steering wheel sensor and the G and yaw rate sensor (Refer to and ).

OPERATION

ASC-ECU receives the vehicle information stored in the ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

The ASC-ECU compares the last vehicle information and the information before last. If there are any differences between the two, the ECU will store this diagnosis code.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ). On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines

Q. Is diagnosis code No. C2206 stored?

Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. Check for diagnosis codes of other systems.

Check if diagnosis code No. C1707 is also stored simultaneously.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Troubleshoot for the relevant diagnosis code (Refer to ). Then go to Step 7.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.

Check whether a diagnosis code is stored in the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS, Diagnosis Code Chart ).

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Follow the relevant diagnosis code procedure. Then go to Step 7.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. ETACS-ECU coding data check

Using M.U.T.-III, check if any abnormality is present to the coding data which are stored in the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 00 - Coding Reference Table <Vehicles for GCC>, <Vehicles for THAILAND>.)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Replace ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU ). Then go to Step 7.

STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
(3)Ignition switch: "ON"

Q. Is diagnosis code No. C2206 stored?

Replace the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) (Refer to ). Then go to Step 7.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

STEP 7. Diagnosis code recheck.

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
(3)Ignition switch: "ON"

Q. Is diagnosis code No. C2206 stored?

Return to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.
