| caution |
- If there is any
problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be stored. Prior to this diagnosis,
diagnose the CAN bus lines (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table
 ).
- Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.
- When diagnosis code No.C2206 is stored in ASC-ECU, the diagnosis code may also be stored
in ETACS-ECU. When the diagnosis code is stored in ETACS-ECU, carry out the diagnosis of the
diagnosis code for ETACS-ECU first.
- When the hydraulic unit (integrated with ASC-ECU) is replaced, always carry out
the calibration of the steering wheel sensor and the G and yaw rate sensor (Refer to and ).

OPERATION
ASC-ECU receives the vehicle information stored in the ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines.
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
The ASC-ECU compares the last vehicle information and the information before last. If
there are any differences between the two, the ECU will store this diagnosis code.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- ETACS-ECU malfunction
- ETACS-ECUs have been interchanged between two vehicles.
- The ACS-ECU, which was used on another vehicle, is installed on this vehicle.
- Malfunction of the hydraulic unit assembly (integrated with ASC-ECU).
- Noise interference

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis
|

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

 Go to Step 3.

 Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
On completion, go to Step 2.

STEP 4. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.

Check whether a diagnosis code is stored in the ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS,
Diagnosis Code Chart ).

Follow the relevant diagnosis code procedure. Then go to Step 7.

STEP 5. ETACS-ECU coding data check
|
|
|
Using M.U.T.-III, check if any abnormality is present to the coding data which are stored
in the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 00 - Coding Reference Table <Vehicles
for GCC>, <Vehicles for THAILAND>.)

Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Replace ETACS-ECU (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU ).
Then go to Step 7.

STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored.
|
|
|
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
|
|
|
(2)Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF)
|
|
|

STEP 7. Diagnosis code recheck.

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored.

(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
