REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



Pre-removal Operation
  • Floor Console Removal (Refer to GROUP 52A - Floor Console Assembly )
  • Rear Scuff Plate Removal (Refer to GROUP 52A - Trim )
  • Heat Protector Panel Rear Removal (Refer to GROUP 15 - Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler )
  • Shoe and Lining Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 35A - Rear Drum Brake )
  • Release the parking brake lever.

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

Withdraw the parking brake cable from the backing plate.
note Insert a 10 mm box-end wrench into the parking brake cable to facilitate the cable withdrawal.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

Pull back the parking brake rear cable to assure it is tightly fastened to the cable retainer.

caution Check that the equalizer and the rear parking brake cable are connected correctly. If the parking brake is applied with the equaliser and the rear parking brake cable connected improperly, the equaliser may be damaged.

Connect the rear parking brake cable to the equaliser as shown in the figure.
