REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



caution Do not loosen the fixing screws for the resin cover of throttle body assembly. If the screws are loosened, the sensor incorporated in the resin cover becomes misaligned and the throttle body can not work normally.
Pre-removal Operation
  • Engine Cover Removal (Refer to GROUP 11A, Camshaft and Valve Stem Seal ).
  • Engine Coolant Draining (Refer to GROUP 14, On-vehicle Service - Engine Coolant Replacement ).
  • Air Cleaner Removal (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner ).

Post-installation Operation
  • Air Cleaner Installation (Refer to GROUP 15, Air Cleaner ).
  • Engine Coolant Supplying (Refer to GROUP 14, On-vehicle Service - Engine Coolant Replacement ).
  • Engine Cover Installation (Refer to GROUP 11A, Camshaft and Valve Stem Seal ).

caution Poor idling etc. may result if the throttle body gasket is installed incorrectly.

Install the throttle body gasket as its protrusion is in the direction shown.

When the throttle body is installed, removed or replaced, initialize the electronic-controlled throttle valve system according to the procedure below beforehand.
1.Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and back to the "LOCK" (OFF) position. Then hold it in this position for approximately 10 seconds or more.
