INSPECTION PROCEDURE 2: Power Supply Circuit System

OPERATION

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Resistance measurement at SRS-ECU connector C-119.

(1)Disconnect the connector C-119.

(2)
caution Do not insert a test probe into the terminal from its front side directly, as the connector contact pressure may be weakened.
Check for continuity between C-119 harness side connector terminals 40 and body earth.
OK: Less than 2 Ω

Q. Is the check results normal?

Then go to Step 2 .

Repair the wiring harness between SRS-ECU connector C-119 terminals 40 and the body earth.

STEP 2. Check the harness wires for short circuit to earth between SRS-ECU connector C-119 (terminal No.23 and 24) and ignition switch connector C-307 (terminal No.2).

note After inspecting intermediate connectors C-202, C-33 and C-205 inspect the wiring harness. If intermediate connectors C-202, C-33 and C-205 are damaged, repair or replace them.

Q. Are the harness wires between SRS-ECU connector C-119 (terminal No.23 and 24) and ignition switch connector C-307 (terminal No.2) in good condition?

Go to Step 3 .

Replace the harness wires between SRS-ECU connector C-119 and ignition switch connector C-307.

STEP 3. Retest the system.

Q. Can the SRS-ECU communicate with the M.U.T.-III?

It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent. Refer to GROUP 00, How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .
Replace the SRS-ECU (Refer to ).
