Inspection Procedure I-6: Keyless entry system-linked fold/unfold function does not work normally.

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If this function does not work normally, keyless entry transmitter input signal circuit or the ETACS-ECU may be defective. Also, with the customisation function, the door mirrors may be set other than to the keyless entry interlock fold/unfold function.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Defective keyless entry transmitter
Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Step 1. Check the keyless entry operation.

Check that the keyless entry system works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Refer to inspection procedure E-1 "Keyless entry system does not work ."

Step 2. Customize function by using the SWS monitor

Use the SWS monitor customisation function to confirm that "DOOR MIRROR" is set to "KEYLESS LINK".

caution

The SWS monitor must be used in order to confirm and change that setting. Use the SWS monitor to confirm and/or change the customized function.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 3.

	Use the SWS monitor customisation function to set "DOOR MIRROR" to "KEYLESS LINK" (Refer to ).

Step 3. Retest the system.

Check that the keyless entry interlock fold/unfold function for the door mirrors works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

	Replace the ETACS-ECU.
