Inspection Procedure C-3: The central door lock switch (incorporated with the power window main switch) fails to perform central door locking operation.



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.




COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If this function does not work normally, the input signal circuit(s) of the central door lock switch (incorporated with the power window main switch) or the ETACS-ECU may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES



  • The central door lock switch (incorporated with the power window main switch) is defective.
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


Step 1. Pulse check


Check the ETACS-ECU signal, which is related to the central door locking system.

Check condition
Central door lock switch
When the front central door lock switch is unlocked or locked
OK: Normal conditions are displayed for all the items.

Q. Are the check result normal?

Go to step 2 .
Refer to inspection procedure P-15 "The signal from the central door lock switch (incorporated with the power window main switch) is not received ."

Step 2. Retest the system.


Check that the central door lock switch (incorporated with the power window main switch) works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
