Code No. P1570: Received Failure Signal from FCM-ECU<Vehicles with FCM-LS>

FUNCTION

Checks for an abnormal signal of FCM-ECU via the CAN communication.

note

When the signal of the FCM-LS that is being started is continuously received, a diagnosis code may be set. When no diagnosis code is set in the FCM-ECU, the vehicle is in the normal condition.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Condition

5 seconds later after the ignition switch has been in "ON" position.
The engine starting sequence was completed.

Judgement Criterion

Initial information or fail information is continuously received from the FCM-ECU.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

The RMS and FCM-LS are prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Failed FCM-ECU
Failed ASC system
Failed MPI system
Failed CAN bus line (noise contamination)

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis.

Use M.U.T.-III to perform CAN bus line diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Repair CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ). After repairing CAN bus line, go to Step 3.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code.

Confirm whether the diagnosis code is set in the FCM-ECU.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Perform troubleshooting of the FCM-LS (Refer to GROUP 54A - FCM-LS, Troubleshooting, Diagnosis Code Chart ).

	Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

Check if Diagnosis code(s) other than No. P1570 is set in the engine-ECU

Erase the set diagnosis code.
Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) → "ON"
Confirm whether the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Inspection chart for diagnosis code. (Refer to ).

	Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

Confirm again whether the diagnosis code is set in the engine-ECU.

Erase the set diagnosis code.
Ignition switch: "LOCK" (OFF) → "ON"
Confirm whether the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Replace the engine-ECU.

	Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions).
