Code No. P170E: ABS/ASC Error Information <Vehicles with FCM-LS>

FUNCTION

Checks for an abnormal signal of ASC system via the CAN communication.

note

A diagnosis code may be set before the sensor calibration of the ASC system. When no diagnosis code has been set in the ASC-ECU, the vehicle is in the normal condition.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Condition

5 seconds later after the ignition switch has been in "ON" position
The engine starting sequence was completed.

Judgement Criterion

The calibration of sensor related ASC-ECU has not been completed, or Engine-ECU receives failure signal from ASC-ECU for 500ms.

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

The RMS and FCM-LS are prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Failed ASC system
Failed CAN bus line (noise contamination)
Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis.

Use M.U.T.-III to perform CAN bus line diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Repair CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting, CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ). After repairing CAN bus line, go to Step 3.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code.

Confirm whether the diagnosis code is set in the ASC-ECU.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Perform troubleshooting of the ASC system. (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting, Diagnosis Code Chart ).

	Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

Reconfirmation of diagnosis code.

Q. Is diagnosis code set?

	Replace the engine-ECU.

	Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions).
