Code No. U1073: Bus-off <Vehicles with FCM-LS>

caution

If diagnosis code U1073 is set in the engine-ECU, surely perform CAN bus line diagnosis.
Replace ECU after certainly confirming that the communication circuits are normal.

FUNCTION

When a communication error frequently occurs, stop the communication of the CAN bus line and a diagnosis code is set.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Conditions

Ignition switch is "ON" position.

Judgement Criterion

When the Bus-off error is judged

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

The RMS and FCM-LS are prohibited.

PROBABLE CAUSES

The CAN bus line is defective (disconnection/short to earth of the CAN bus line).
Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis.

Use M.U.T.-III to perform CAN bus line diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions).

	Perform the troubleshooting of the CAN bus system. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
