STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list.



  • Refer to data list reference table

    1. Item 36: V. V. T. phase angle

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions).
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check oil feeder control valve itself.



  • Check oil feeder control valve itself

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the oil feeder control valve (Refer to GROUP 11B - Camshaft ).

STEP 3. Check of damage in OCV line between oil feeder control valve connector and engine-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check of damage in power supply line between engine control relay connector and oil feeder control valve connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 5. Check oil passage of variable valve timing control system for being clogged.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the system. When foreign material is adhered to the oil filter mounted directly on the oil feeder control valve, replace the oil feeder control valve (Refer to GROUP 11B - Camshaft ).

STEP 6. Check variable valve timing sprocket operation mechanism for being stuck.



  • Check variable valve timing sprocket (Refer to GROUP 11B - Timing Chain, Inspection).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair.

STEP 7. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.



  • Reconfirmation of diagnosis code

Q. Is diagnosis code No. P0011 set?

Replace the engine-ECU.
