REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS



<<A>> FUEL MAIN PIPE DISCONNECTION


1.Release the fuel pressure in the fuel line (Refer to GROUP 13A - On-vehicle Service, Reduce Fuel Pressure in Pressurized Fuel Lines ).




2.Follow the steps below to unlock the fuel main pipe connector.
(1) Compress the retainer tabs of the fuel main pipe connector to unlock it.
(2) Pull out the connector with the retainer still attached to the pipe of the fuel pump and gauge assembly.
note Remove the retainer from the pipe and then assemble the retainer into the connector.

<<B>> MAIN MUFFLER/HEAT PROTECTOR PANEL REAR REMOVAL


1.Remove the two muffler hangers on the vehicle rear side to create sufficient clearance for the removal and installation of the heat protector panel rear.
2.Remove the heat protector panel rear.

<<C>> FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY REMOVAL


Support the fuel tank assembly with a transmission jack, and remove the mounting bolts of the fuel tank assembly. Then, remove the fuel tank assembly.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

caution After the installation, slightly pull the fuel main pipe to check that it is connected securely. At this time, also check that there is approximately 1 mm play.
Follow the steps below to lock the fuel main pipe connector.
1.Make sure that the fuel pump and gauge assembly and the fuel main pipe connector remains straight.
2.Insert the connector into the fuel pump and gauge assembly until it clicks into place.

The shape of the mounting bolt shown in the figure differs from that of the other mounting bolts (3 locations).
