Code No. U1770: Implausible coding data

Diagnostic function

CVT-ECU checks that the coding information is normal.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

The ETACS-ECU coding information about whether the G sensor for CVT-ECU or active stability control system is mounted or not is incorrect.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics

Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting.)

STEP 2. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.

Check if the ETACS-ECU stores a diagnosis code.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Diagnose the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting)
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. ETACS-ECU coding data check

Using M.U.T.-III, check if any abnormality is present in the coding data below which is stored in the ETACS-ECU.

Not present: G sensor for CVT
    Not present: A.S.C

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the coding data. If repair is impossible, replace the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is stored in the CVT-ECU.
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is stored.

Q. Is the diagnosis code stored?

Replace the CVT-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction.
