Code No. C1753: FCM radar blockage detected

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION

If the laser radar detects deterioration of the detection performance or a detection fault, diagnosis code No. C1753 is set.
note When the engine is started with the hood opened or the laser radar detects an obstacle at a short distance, this diagnosis may be set. In this case, remove the factor that blocks the laser from the laser radar, and then restart the engine. If the diagnosis code is not set, the vehicle is normal.

CHECK CONDITION

When all the following conditions are satisfied.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check for dirt or foreign materials around the windshield and laser radar and for obstacles that block the laser.

Check if there is dirt, damage, or foreign materials around the windshield and laser radar. Check if the laser is blocked by the load on the roof, a wall or structure close to the windshield, or open food of the vehicle.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Remove the factor that blocks the laser.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

After checking the laser radar, check again if the diagnosis code is set in the laser radar.
(1)Check the laser radar using the reflector (Refer to ).
(2)Erase the set diagnosis code.
(3)Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
(4)Start the engine.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the laser radar (Refer to ).
The procedure is complete (The protection control has been activated due to a factor, such as weather or environment around the vehicle, and no failure has occurred).
