REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



caution
  • When the ignition switch is ON, the infrared light is irradiated from the lens on the front part of the laser radar. Do not look into the irradiated area with optical equipment having a magnification function near the laser radar (within approximately 10 cm) because the infrared light can damage your eyes.
  • When removing or installing the laser radar, be careful not to touch or contaminate the lens on the front of the laser radar.
  • When removing or installing the laser radar, be careful not to apply impact to the sensor.
  • Do not reuse the laser radar that has been dropped.
  • After removing or installing the laser radar, check the laser radar (Refer to ).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS



<<A>> LASER RADAR COVER REMOVAL


1.Apply a protective tape to each component to prevent damages.

2.
caution When using the special tool ornament remover (MB990784), be careful not to damage the laser radar cover or laser radar bracket put on the windshield. Be careful not to insert the special tool ornament remover (MB990784) too deep because doing so may damage the laser radar bracket.
While lightly pressing the laser radar cover in the direction shown by the arrow (1), disengage the claws on the front and rear with the special tool ornament remover (MB990784) (2) to remove the laser radar cover.

<<B>> LASER RADAR REMOVAL


1.Disconnect the laser radar connector.

2.Disengage the claws on the rear end and the pins on the front end of the laser radar to remove the laser radar.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

caution Do not reuse the laser radar with the sealing foam on the upper part of the laser radar that has been damaged (nicked or cracked).
1.Insert the pin on the front end of the laser radar to the laser radar bracket.
2.
caution Be sure to push the claws on the rear end of the laser radar until the claws click.
Engage the claws on the rear end with the laser radar bracket. At this time, be careful not to damage the sealing foam on the upper part of the laser radar.
