Inspection Procedure 2: The FCM-LS and the RMS (Forward) do not turn on/off by operating the FCM-LS OFF switch.



note Even when the ASC system is off, the FCM-LS OFF indicator is on and the FCM-LS and the RMS (Forward) is off.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


note Diagnosis code No. C1784 may be set.

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis.


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).

Check the ASC-ECU service data (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. FCM-LS OFF switch check.


Check the FCM-LS OFF switch (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the FCM-LS OFF switch.

STEP 4. Resistance measurement at the FCM-LS OFF switch connector (earth terminal).


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance at the harness.
(2)Measure the resistance between the FCM-LS OFF switch connector (earth terminal) and body earth.
OK: Connect (2 Ω or lower)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Disconnection check of the earth line between the FCM-LS OFF switch connector and body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

STEP 6. Check of short to earth and open circuit in the FCSW line between the FCM-LS OFF switch connector and ASC-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.

Check the ASC-ECU service data (Refer to GROUP 35C - Troubleshooting ).
