Code No. P2719:
Abnormality in Select Pressure Solenoid Valve Function
DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION
CVT-ECU determines that the system is defective by monitoring the select pressure solenoid
valve.
JUDGEMENT CRITERIA
- The system detects a shorter range selection period than a certain value
(N → D: 0.4 seconds, N → R: 0.3 seconds, P → R: 0.3 seconds) three times
while all of the following conditions are satisfied.
- The engine is running.
- Selector lever position: D, R
- Fluid temperature: 20° or more
- Vehicle speed: 3 km/h or less
- When all the conditions listed below are met and the forward clutch or the
reverse brake is slipping for 30 seconds while driving forward or backward.
- The engine is running.
- Selector lever position: D, R
- Vehicle speed: 3 km/h or less
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of valve body assembly (Faulty select pressure solenoid valve)
- Malfunction of the CVT assembly

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code
Q.
Are diagnosis codes P2720 or P2721 set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Measure the output wave pattern of the select pressure solenoid
valve at CVT-ECU connector (LBLS terminal).
(1)Connect the CVT assembly connector.
(3)When the vehicle is stationary
(4)Selector lever position: N
(5)Connect an oscilloscope, and measure the voltage between CVT-ECU connector LBLS
terminal and body earth. OK: A wave pattern such as the one shown on (Check
Procedure Using an Oscilloscope) should be output. There should be no noise in the output wave
pattern.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Refer to diagnosis code No.P2720: Malfunction of Select Pressure Solenoid Valve
(short) , or diagnosis code No.P2721: Malfunction of Select Pressure
Solenoid Valve (open) .
STEP 3. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code
Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position, and wait for one minute. Then,
drive the vehicle for a while and check again.
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the CVT assembly.
Intermittent malfunction.
