Code No. U0317: CAN time-out error (EPB)


DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION


The A/T-ECU determines that the system is defective if the ECU can receive no CAN communication information from the EPB-ECU.

JUDGEMENT CRITERIA


No information is received from the EPB-ECU for 0.55 seconds.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics
Use M.U.T.-III to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus lines.

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code
Check if the EPB-related diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the EPB-related diagnosis code set?
Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code
Is diagnosis code No. U0317 set in the other ECU, which communicates with the EPB-ECU via CAN?

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace EPB-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction.

STEP 5. Symptom recheck after erasing diagnosis code

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace A/T-ECU.
Intermittent malfunction.
