Code No. C1628: Abnormal Electronic Control Coupling Solenoid (Centre) Current

OPERATION

The AWC-ECU monitors the current value of the electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre).

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

This diagnosis code is set when the abnormality below is detected:

By the monitored electronic control solenoid (Centre) current, the AWC-ECU judges the undercurrent failure.
By the monitored electronic control solenoid (Centre) current, the AWC-ECU judges the overcurrent failure.
The AWC-ECU judges the monitor circuit failure.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre)
Damaged harness wires and connectors
Malfunction of AWC-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check of open circuit, and short circuit in SOL+ line between electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre) connector and AWC-ECU connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 5.

STEP 2. Check of open circuit, and short circuit in SOL- line between electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre) connector and AWC-ECU connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 3.

	Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 5.

STEP 3. Check of the electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre)

Refer to GROUP 27C - On-vehicle Service.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 4.

	Replace the electronic control coupling (Centre) (Refer to GROUP 27C - Electronic Control Coupling). Then go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1628 set?

	Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.

	Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1628 set?

	Return to Step 1.

	This diagnosis is complete.
