Code No.C2100: Battery Voltage Malfunction (Low Voltage)




OPERATION


AWC-ECU power supply is provided from the battery via ETACS-ECU.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS


This diagnosis code is set when the AWC-ECU power supply voltage and the actuator power supply voltage are less than 9 V.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.


Check the ETACS diagnosis code. (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting).

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Perform the relevant troubleshooting.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check the battery.


Refer to GROUP 54A - Battery Test.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Charge or replace the battery. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the charging system.


Refer to GROUP 16 - Charging System.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace the charging system component(s).

STEP 4. Voltage measurement at AWC-ECU connector


Disconnect the connector, and measure the voltage between AWC-ECU connector terminal 4WDF and earth at the wiring harness side.
OK: System voltage

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Go to Step 5.

STEP 5. Check of open circuit, and short circuit in 4WDF line between AWC-ECU connector and ETACS-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 6. M.U.T.-III data list.


Item No.31: Battery voltage (CAN input) (Refer to data list reference table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU). Then go to Step 15.

STEP 7. Check of open circuit in GND1 line between AWC-ECU connector and body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 8. Check of short circuit in FSL+ line between electronic control coupling solenoid (front) connector and AWC-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 9. Check of short circuit in FSL- line between electronic control coupling solenoid (front) connector and AWC-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 10. Check of the electronic control coupling solenoid (Front)


Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.
Replace the transfer assembly (Refer to ). Then go to Step 15.

STEP 11. Check of short circuit in SOL+ line between electronic control coupling solenoid (centre) connector and AWC-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 12.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 12. Check of short circuit in SOL- line between electronic control coupling solenoid (centre) connector and AWC-ECU connector.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 15.

STEP 13. Check of the electronic control coupling solenoid (Centre)


Refer to GROUP 27C - On-vehicle Service.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Replace the electronic control coupling (centre) (Refer to GROUP 27C - Electronic Control Coupling). Then go to Step 15.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 15.

STEP 15. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C2100 set?

Return to Step 1.
