Code No. C1613: Drive Mode Selector System (Stuck ON)


OPERATION


The AWC-ECU controls the driving mode by the signal from the S-AWC drive mode-selector.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS


This diagnosis code will be set when the S-AWC drive mode-selector is seized.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list.
Item No.41: Mode switch (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check of short circuit in SW1 line S-AWC drive mode-selector connector and AWC-ECU connector.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness. Then go to Step 5.

STEP 3. Check of the S-AWC drive mode-selector
Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the S-AWC drive mode-selector (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1613 set?
Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 5.
Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

STEP 5. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1613 set?
Return to Step 1.
