Code No. C1707: Implausible Coding Data



caution
  • If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines.
  • Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the CAN bus lines are normal.
  • When diagnosis code No. C1707 is set in the AWC-ECU, a diagnosis code may also be set in the ETACS-ECU. When the diagnosis code is set in ETACS-ECU, perform the diagnosis of the diagnosis code for ETACS-ECU first.

OPERATION


AWC-ECU receives the vehicle information stored in ETACS-ECU via CAN bus lines.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS


This diagnosis code will be set when the vehicle information received from the ETACS-ECU is invalid.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics.


Use M.U.T.-III to perform the CAN bus diagnosis.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus lines. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting). After repairing the CAN bus line, go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1707 set?

Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.


Check if the ETACS diagnosis code is set. (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting).

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Carry out the appropriate troubleshooting.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. ETACS-ECU coding data check


Use the M.U.T.-III to check whether the coding data stored in the ETACS-ECU is correct (Refer to GROUP 00 - Coding List).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Replace the ETACS-ECU. (Refer to GROUP 54A - ETACS-ECU). Then go to Step 7.

STEP 5. Check a part number of the ASC-ECU.


Check a part number of ASC-ECU.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 7.

STEP 6. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1707 set?

Replace the AWC-ECU. (Refer to ). Then go to Step 7.
Intermittent malfunction. (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

STEP 7. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.


Q. Is diagnosis code No.C1707 set?

Return to Step 1.
