Code No. C2243
Rear sensor power line
OPERATION
The clearance warning control unit sets diagnosis code No.C2243 when it detects a short
in the sensor power supply circuit (rear side).
note |
When this diagnosis code is set, diagnosis codes C2236 to C2239 will not be set.
|
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
The condition below is satisfied:
- The system detects a malfunction in the sensor power supply (rear side) monitoring
circuit for at least three seconds.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of rear corner clearance sensor
- Malfunction of back distance warning sensor
- Malfunction of clearance warning control unit
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the wiring harness between the rear side
sensor connectors and clearance warning control unit.
note |
To check electric continuity, always select a resistance range of a multimeter.
|
- Check the short to power supply and short to earth circuit in PIUS line between
the rear corner clearance sensor (LH) connector and clearance warning control unit connector.
- Check the short to power supply and short to earth circuit in PIUS line between
the rear corner clearance sensor (RH) connector and clearance warning control unit connector.
- Check the short to power supply and short to earth circuit in PIUS line between
the back distance warning sensor (LH) connector and clearance warning control unit connector.
- Check the short to power supply and short to earth circuit in PIUS line between
the back distance warning sensor (RH) connector and clearance warning control unit connector.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 2. Check the rear side sensor.
Disconnect each of the rear side sensors one after the other, and check whether diagnosis
code C2243 is set.
|
(1)Disconnect one of the rear side sensor connectors.
|
|
(2)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
(3)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
|
|
(4)Check if diagnosis code No. C2243 is set. If not, the corresponding sensor is defective.
|
|
(5)Repeat the operation for the other rear side sensors from Step 1.
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the defective sensor (Refer to ).
STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the clearance warning control unit.
|
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
|
|
(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.
|
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the clearance warning control unit (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How
to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
