When the monitor screen is not switched although the selector lever is moved to the "R" position, the selector lever signal system may be defective.

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting).

STEP 2. Check the operation of the back-up lamp.


Check that the back-up lamp illuminate normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Troubleshoot the back-up lamp.

Check whether the ETACS-ECU diagnosis codes are set or not.

Diagnose the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 5. Retest the system.


Q. Is the check result normal?
