Rear view camera fault
TROUBLE JUDGEMENT
If signal from the rear-view camera cannot be received for 5 seconds or more, the camera-ECU sets
diagnosis code No.B2501.

When diagnosis code No.B2501 is set, the segment, which corresponds to a defective camera, is
displayed in blue.

PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of rear-view camera
- Malfunction of camera-ECU
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check the wiring harness between rear-view camera
connector and camera-ECU connector.
Check the following.
- Check of open circuit in ACCR line.
- Check of open circuit in GNDR line.
- Check of open or short circuit in VRV line.
- Check of open circuit in SVRV line.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the camera-ECU.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.

(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.

Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Go to Step 3.
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How
to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
STEP 3. Check the rear-view camera.
Use an oscilloscope to check the output waveform of the rear-view camera (Refer to ).
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the rear-view camera (Refer to ).
STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.
Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the camera-ECU.

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.

(2)Turn the ignition switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.

(3)Check if diagnosis code is set.
