CODE No. C2335 Vehicle speed not determined

caution

Before replacing the ECU, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.

OPERATION

The BSW-ECU (master) communicates with the ASC-ECU via the gateway-ECU and CAN bus lines.

CHECK CONDITION

Ignition switch is in the ON position.

DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION AND JUDGEMENT CRITERIA

When the BSW-ECU (master) receives any invalid vehicle speed signal or any implausible signal from the ASC-ECU, the ECU sets diagnosis code No.C2335.

PROBABLE CAUSES

The ASC system fails
Malfunction of BSW-ECU (master)

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Check the M.U.T.-III Diagnosis code for other systems.

Check if diagnosis code is set in the ASC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 35C Troubleshooting - Diagnosis Code Chart).

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Troubleshoot the ASC-ECU.

Go to Step 2

STEP 2. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the BSW-ECU (master).

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.

(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.

(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the ASC-ECU (Refer to GROUP 35C - Hydraulic Unit Removal and Installation). Then Go to Step 3.

Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to cope with Intermittent Malfunction).

STEP 3. Check whether the diagnosis code is set again.

Check again if the diagnosis code is set in the BSW-ECU (master).

(1)Erase the diagnosis code.

(2)Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.

(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the BSW-ECU (master).

This diagnosis is complete.
