REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS

<<A>> GLOW PLUG REMOVAL

When removing the glow plug, you may loosen using a tool up to the point where one or more threads are left in engagement. Beyond this point, loosen with fingers.

caution

Do not reuse a glow plug, that has been dropped from a height of 10 cm or more.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< GLOW PLUG INSTALLATION

1.Check that the glow plug, glow plug mounting threads and plug seating of cylinder head are dry.

2.When installing the glow plug, screw in one thread or more with fingers and then tighten with a tool.

3.Tighten the glow plugs to 9.0 ± 1.0 N·m.

4.Using the special tool Angle gauge (MB991614), tighten the glow plug to a further 30° to 40°.

>>B<< ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

When reusing the sensor, apply the specified sealant to the threads.
Specified sealant:
3M™ Nut Locking Part No. 4171 or equivalent or equivalent.
