Code No. P0513: Immobilizer Malfunction

FUNCTION

Engine-ECU sends or receives the control signals to or from immobilizer-ECU to certify the ignition key.

note

If the registered ignition keys are close each other when starting the engine, radio interference may cause this code to be displayed.
This code may be displayed when registering the key encrypted code.

TROUBLE JUDGMENT

Check Condition

Ignition switch is in "ON" position.

Judgment Criterion

The check result of the immobilizer-ECU is not suitable for that of the engine-ECU.

PROBABLE CAUSE

Open/short circuit in immobilizer system circuit or loose connector contact
Failed immobilizer-ECU
Failed engine-ECU

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code.

Confirm whether the diagnosis codes are output from immobilizer-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code output?

	Perform the troubleshooting of immobilizer system (Refer to GROUP 54A - Troubleshooting - Check Chart for Diagnosis Chart ).

If diagnosis code P0513 output again after the diesel diagnosis code has been erased, replace the engine-ECU. When the engine-ECU replaced, write the chassis number (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Perform Chassis Number Writing
