DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

warning A high-tension voltage is flowing between the engine-ECU and the injectors while the engine is running. Handle them carefully to avoid receiving electric shocks from the voltage.

STEP 1. Connector check: B-105, B-111, B-119 and B-120 injector connectors

Q. Are the check results normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 2. Check Injector itself.

  • Check injector itself (Refer to ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Replace the injector. After replacing the Injector, register the injector identification code and learn fuel injection (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - What The Common Rail Engine Learns ).

STEP 3. Connector check: D-213 engine-ECU connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair or replace the connector.

STEP 4. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 23 and terminal No. 24) engine-ECU connector and B-119 (terminal No. 2) No. 1 injector connector.

  • Check earthing line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 5. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 5 and terminal No. 6) engine-ECU connector and B-111 (terminal No. 2) No. 2 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check earthing line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 6. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 3 and terminal No. 4) engine-ECU connector and B-120 (terminal No. 2) No. 3 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check earthing line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 7. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 25 and terminal No. 26) engine-ECU connector and B-105 (terminal No. 2) No. 4 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check earthing line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 8. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 1) engine-ECU connector and B-119 (terminal No. 1) No. 1 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check power supply line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 9. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 2) engine-ECU connector and B-111 (terminal No. 1) No. 2 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check power supply line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 10. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 2) engine-ECU connector and B-120 (terminal No. 1) No. 3 injector connector.

note Before checking harness, check intermediate connector D-111, and repair if necessary.

  • Check power supply line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 11. Check harness between D-213 (terminal No. 1) engine-ECU connector and B-105 (terminal No. 1) No. 4 injector connector.

  • Check power supply line for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 12.
Repair the damaged harness wire.

STEP 12. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.

  • After clearing the diagnosis code through M.U.T.-III, start the engine and confirm whether the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the engine-ECU. When the engine-ECU is replaced, write the chassis number (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - How to Perform Chassis Number Writing ). After replacing the engine-ECU, register the injector identification code and learn fuel injection (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service - What The Common Rail Engine Learns ).
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
