REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION <4M41>


Pre-removal Operation
  • Engine Cover Removal (Refer to GROUP 11G - Engine Assembly ).
  • Throttle Body Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 13D - Throttle Body ).
  • EGR Pipe B Assembly and EGR Valve Removal (Refer to GROUP 17 - Emission Control, EGR Valve and EGR Cooler ).
  • Air Inlet Pipe Removal (Refer to GROUP 15 - Inlet Manifold ).

 Post-installation Operation
  • Air Inlet Pipe Installation (Refer to GROUP 15 - Inlet Manifold ).
  • EGR Pipe B Assembly and EGR Valve Installation (Refer to GROUP 17 - Emission Control, EGR Valve and EGR Cooler ).
  • Throttle Body Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 13D - Throttle Body ).
  • Engine Cover Installation (Refer to GROUP 11G - Engine Assembly ).

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

1.
caution Check that the glow plug, glow plug mounting thread and plug seating surface of cylinder head are dry.
Install the glow plug to the cylinder head.

2.Tighten the glow plug as follows.
(1) Tighten the glow plug to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 9.0 ± 1.0 N·m

caution
  • If the glow plug is tightened less than the specified lower limit of 30 degree angle, the glow plug may become loose. Be sure to tighten correctly.
  • If the glow plug is tightened in excess of the specified upper limit of 40 degree angle, loosen the glow plug completely and repeat the entire procedures.
Using special tool angle gauge (MB991614), tighten the glow plug by a further 30 to 40 degree angle.
