Inspection Procedure 3: When the Selector Lever is Moved to "N" Range, Auto-cruise Control is not Cancelled <A/T>.




OPERATION


When the selector lever is operated, the selector lever signal from the inhibitor switch is sent to the Engine-A/T-ECU.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The inhibitor switch circuit is suspected.

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list.


Item 87: Inhibitor switch (Refer to data list reference table ).

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Check the inhibitor switch system [Refer to GROUP 23A - Troubleshooting <A/T>, Diagnosis Code Procedures, DTC P1770: Inhibitor switch system (Open Circuit) , DTC P1771: Inhibitor switch system (Short Circuit) ]. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 2. Retest the system.


Q. Does the selector lever moved to "N" range, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?

It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the engine-A/T-ECU (Refer to GROUP 13A - Engine-ECU and Engine-A/T-ECU ) <6G72> or (Refer to GROUP 13B - Engine-ECU and Engine-A/T-ECU ) <6G75>. Then go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Retest the system.


Q. Does the selector lever moved to "N" range, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?

The procedure is complete.
