DISASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

<<A>> DOJ ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

1.Make mating marks on driveshaft, DOJ inner race and DOJ cage as shown in the illustration.

2.Remove the balls from the DOJ cage.

3.Remove the DOJ cage from the DOJ inner race in the direction shown in the illustration.

<<B>> DOJ BOOT REMOVAL

Wrap plastic tape around the spline part on the DOJ side of the driveshaft so that DOJ boot is not damaged when removed.

REASSEMBLY SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< DOJ ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

1.Install DOJ cage to the driveshaft and put it aside to EBJ assembly side.

2.Align the mating marks of DOJ inner race with that of the driveshaft.

3.Tap the DOJ inner race with even force to press-fit into the driveshaft with special tool remover bar (MB990939).

>>B<< DOJ OUTER RACE INSTALLATION

caution

The driveshaft joint use special grease. Do not mix old and new or different types of grease.

1.Fill the inside of the DOJ outer race and DOJ boot with the specified grease.
Specified grease : Repair kit grease 275 ± 10 g

caution

Do not secure the boot band (large).

2.Install the circlip onto the DOJ outer race. Place the DOJ boot over the DOJ outer race, and then use a boot band (small) to secure the boot.

>>C<< DOJ BOOT/DOJ BOOT BAND INSTALLATION

Adjust the distance (A shown in the illustration) between the boot bands to the specified value to adjust the air volume inside the DOJ boot to the specified value, then be sure to tighten the DOJ boot band (large) and DOJ boot band (small).
Standard value (A): 97 ± 3 mm
