DISC BRAKE PAD CHECK AND REPLACEMENT

note The brake pads have wear indicators that contact the brake disc when the brake pad thickness reaches approximately 2 mm and emit a squealing sound to warn the driver.

1.Check the brake pad thickness through the caliper body check port.
Standard value:

    10.0 mm <Short wheelbase, Long wheelbase-2 800, 3 000, Long wheelbase-3 200, 3 800 (rear)>
    11.5 mm <Long wheelbase-3 200, 3 800 (front)>
Limit: 2.0 mm
2.When the thickness is lower than the limit value, replace both brake pads (right and left) as a set in the following steps.

<Except long wheelbase-3 200, 3 800 (front)>

1.Remove the guide pin lock bolt or the slide pin bolt, swivel the caliper assembly upward and retain it with a wire or similar tool.

2.Remove the following parts from the caliper.

  1. Pad assembly
  2. Shim
  3. Clip
3.In order to measure the brake drag force after pad installation, measure the hub sliding torque with no pad attached. (Front: refer to , rear: refer to .)
4.Install the pad and caliper assembly, and check the brake drag force. (Front: refer to , rear: refer to .)
note Install at pad assembly with a wear indicator to the inside of the wheel with the indicator facing downwards.

<Long wheelbase-3 200, 3 800 (front)>

1.Pull out the pin from the caliper.

2.Remove the following parts from the caliper.

  1. Pad assembly
  2. Shim
3.In order to measure the brake drag force after pad installation, measure the rotary-sliding resistance of the hub with the pads removed (Refer to ).
4.Install the pads and caliper assembly, and then check the brake drag force (Refer to ).
note Install at pad assembly with a wear indicator to the inside of the wheel with the indicator facing downwards.
