COMMENT ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If a door can not be locked or unlocked by the central door locking system, the door lock actuator may be defective.

POSSIBLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Confirm which door lock actuator is defective.


Q. Which door fails to lock correctly?

Driver’s door : Go to Step 2.

Front passenger’s door : Go to Step 6.

Rear right door <Long wheelbase> : Go to Step 10.

Rear left door <Long wheelbase> : Go to Step 14.

Back door : Go to Step 18.

STEP 2. Connector check: F-05 door lock actuator (front: LH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the door lock actuator (front: LH)


Check that the door lock actuator (front: LH) works normally. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the door lock actuator (front: LH).

STEP 4. Connector check: D-419 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness from D-419 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos.12 and 13 to F-05 door lock actuator (front: LH) connector terminal Nos. 6 and 4.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-133 and junction block connector D-405, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00, How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Connector check: F-15 door lock actuator (front: RH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 7. Check the door lock actuator (front: RH).


Check that the door lock actuator (front: RH) works normally. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.

Replace the door lock actuator (front: RH).

STEP 8. Connector check: D-419 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Check the wiring harness from D-419 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 12 and 13 to F-15 door lock actuator (front: LH) connector terminal Nos. 4 and 6


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-114 and junction block connector D-405, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 10. Connector check: F-24 door lock actuator (rear: RH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 11. Check the door lock actuator (rear: RH).


Check that the door lock actuator (rear: RH) is in good condition. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 12.

Replace the door lock actuator (rear: RH).

STEP 12. Connector check: D-409 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 13. Check the wiring harness from D-409 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 12 and 13 to F-24 door lock actuator (rear: RH) connector terminal Nos. 6 and 4.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-220, E-43 and junction block connector D-409, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 14. Connector check: F-16 door lock actuator (rear: LH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 15.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 15. Check the door lock actuator (rear: LH).


Check that the door lock actuator (rear: LH) is in good condition. Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 16.

Replace the door lock actuator (rear: LH).

STEP 16. Connector check: D-419 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 17.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 17. Check the wiring harness from D-419 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 12 and 13 to F-16 door lock actuator (rear: LH) connector terminal Nos. 4 and 6.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connectors D-236, E-42 and junction block connector D-405, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 18. Connector check: G-13 back door lock actuator connector

Check that the back door lock actuator is in good condition. Refer to .

Go to Step 20.

Replace the back door lock actuator.

STEP 20. Connector check: D-419 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 21.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 21. Check the wiring harness from D-419 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 12 and 13 to G-13 back door lock actuator connector terminal Nos. 6 and 4.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connectors D-220, E-105 and junction block connector D-409, and repair if necessary.
