4: The engine does not start. (cranking occurs but initial combustion does not) <Petrol

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the fuel injection does not work, the immobilizer-ECU and the MPI system may be defective.
It is no problem with the malfunction above when the engine is started with unregistered ignition
key.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Malfunction of MPI system
- Malfunction of immobilizer-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Battery voltage check
Measure the battery voltage when cranking.
OK: 8 V or more

Go to Step 2.
Check the battery (Refer to ).
STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code
Check whether the MPI system-related diagnosis code is set.

Refer to GROUP 13A - Troubleshooting <3000>
or GROUP 13B - Troubleshooting <3800>.
Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code
Check whether the engine immobilizer system-related diagnosis code is set.

STEP 4. Check that the engine starts.

the immobilizer-ECU and register the ignition key (Refer to ).
