COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the fuel injection does not work, the immobilizer-ECU and the MPI system may be defective. It is no problem with the malfunction above when the engine is started with unregistered ignition key.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Battery voltage check


Measure the battery voltage when cranking.
OK: 8 V or more

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.

Check the battery (Refer to ).

STEP 2. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code


Check whether the MPI system-related diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Refer to GROUP 13A - Troubleshooting <3000> or GROUP 13B - Troubleshooting <3800>.

Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code


Check whether the engine immobilizer system-related diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check that the engine starts.


Q. Does the engine start?

The procedure is complete.

Refer to GROUP 13A - Troubleshooting <3000> or GROUP 13B - Troubleshooting <3800>. Replace the immobilizer-ECU and register the ignition key (Refer to ). when the cause of the failure cannot tracked down by performing the troubleshooting.
