Inspection Procedure 1: Power of Radio and CD Player or CD Changer does
not Turn ON when the Ignition Switch is in the "ACC" Position or "ON"

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
The cause is probably a faulty radio
and CD player or CD changer power supply circuit system.
PROBABLE CAUSES
- Damaged wiring harness or connector.
- Malfunction of radio and CD player or CD changer.

STEP 1. Check to see that the power turns ON when the power switch is
turned ON.
|
|
(1)Turn the ignition switch to "ACC" position.
|
|
(2)Turn ON the radio and CD player or CD changer power
switch.
|
|

Is the check result normal?
|
|
Go to Step 2.
|
|
|
|
Go to Step 5.
|
|
|
|
STEP 2. Connector check: D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer
connector.
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
Go to Step 3.
|
|
|
|
Repair
or replace the component(s). If the power switch is turned on, the radio
and CD player or CD changer should operate normally.
|
|
|
|
STEP 3. Voltage measurement at D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer
connector.
|
|
(1)Disconnect D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer
connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
|
|
(2)Turn the ignition switch to "ACC" position.
|
|
(3)Measure the voltage between terminal No.21 and body
earth. OK: System voltage
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
Go to Step 5.
|
|
|
|
Go to Step 4.
|
|
|
|
STEP 4. Check the harness wire between D-209 radio and CD player or CD
changer connector terminal No.21 and ignition switch (ACC).

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check
intermediate connectors D-238 and D-241, and repair if
necessary.

|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
Go to Step 5.
|
|
|
|
Repair
or replace the damage component(s). If the power switch is turned on, the
radio and CD player or CD changer should operate normally.
|
|
|
|
STEP 5. Check the assembling state of the radio and CD player or CD
changer.
|
|

The radio and CD player or CD changer is earthed to
the instrument panel centre reinforcement directly.
|
|
|
Q.
Is the check result normal?
|
|
Repair
or replace the radio and CD player or CD changer. If the power switch is
turned on, the radio and CD player or CD changer should operate
normally.

Install properly. If the power switch
is turned on, the radio and CD player or CD changer should operate
