The cause is probably a faulty radio CD player memory backup power supply circuit system.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Connector check: Radio and CD player or CD changer connector D-209.


Q. Is D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer connector in good condition?

Go to Step 2.
Repair or replace the damage component(s). Check that a memory is retained.

STEP 2. Voltage measurement at D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer connector.


(1)Disconnect D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer connector.
(2)Measure the voltage between terminal number 30 and earth.
OK: System voltage

Q. Does the measured voltage correspond with this range?

Either repair or replace the radio and CD player or CD changer. Check that a memory is retained.
Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check the harness wire between D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer connector terminal No.30 and fusible link (1).


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-241, and repair if necessary.

Q. Are the wiring harness between D-209 radio and CD player or CD changer connector terminal No.30 and fusible link (1) in good condition?

Repair or replace the radio and CD player or CD changer. Check that a memory is retained.
Repair the harness wire. Check that a memory is retained.
