Inspection procedure B-6: The speed alarm buzzer does not work. <Vehicles for GCC>



caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


The ETACS-ECU operates this function in accordance with the vehicle speed alarm request signal.
If this function does not work normally, the combination meter may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics


Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54D - Troubleshooting ).

STEP 2. Check the power supply circuit.


When the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK (OFF) position, check if the hazard warning lamps illuminate.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Refer to inspection procedure A-1 "Check the battery power supply circuit to the ETACS-ECU ."

STEP 3. Check the combination meter.


Check that the speedometer works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Diagnose the combination meter (Refer to ).

STEP 4. Retest the system.


Check that the speed alarm buzzer works normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
