Inspection Procedure C-14: All the door switch signals are not received. <LHD>






















caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input signal circuit is normal.


COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


Input signals from all the door switches are used to operate the functions below. If the signal(s) are abnormal, these functions will not work normally.

  • Keyless entry system
  • Room lamps

PROBABLE CAUSES



  • Malfunction of the door switches
  • Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU
  • Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the pulse check results.


Q. Are the pulse check results satisfactory?

YES <The pulse check results are satisfactory.> : The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
NO <The front door switch (LH) signal is not received.> : Refer to inspection procedure C-5 "The driver’s door switch signal is not received <LHD> ."
NO <The front door switch (RH) signal is not received.> : Go to Step 2.
NO <The rear door switch (LH) signal is not received.> : Go to Step 7.
NO <The rear door switch (RH) signal is not received.> : Go to Step 12.
NO <The back door switch signal is not received.> : Go to Step 17.

STEP 2. Check the installation condition.


Check that the door switch is installed on the body correctly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Correct the installation condition.

STEP 3. Connector check: E-29 door switch (front: RH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 4. Check the door switch.


Refer to GROUP 42 - Door assembly .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Replace the door switch.

STEP 5. Connector check: D-420 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between E-29 door switch (fornt: RH) connector terminal No.1 and D-420 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.65.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-219 and repair if necessary.

  • Check the input line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 22.
Repair the wiring harness between the door switch and the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 7. Check the installation condition.


Check that the door switch is installed on the body correctly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 8.
Correct the installation condition.

STEP 8. Connector check: E-41 door switch (rear: LH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Check the door switch.


Refer to GROUP 42 - Door assembly .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.
Replace the door switch.

STEP 10. Connector check: D-419 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 11.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 11. Check the wiring harness between E-41 door switch (rear: LH) connector terminal No.1 and D-419 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.7.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-237 and junction block connector D-405 and repair if necessary.

  • Check the input line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 22.
Repair the wiring harness between the door switch and the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 12. Check the installation condition.


Check that the door switch is installed on the body correctly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.
Correct the installation condition.

STEP 13. Connector check: E-32 door switch (rear: RH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 14.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 14. Check the door switch.


Refer to GROUP 42 - Door assembly .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 15.
Replace the door switch.

STEP 15. Connector check: D-420 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 16.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 16. Check the wiring harness between E-32 door switch (rear: RH) connector terminal No.1 and D-420 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.70.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-219 and repair if necessary.

  • Check the input line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 22.
Repair the wiring harness between the door switch and the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 17. Check the installation condition.


Check that the door switch is installed on the body correctly.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 18.
Correct the installation condition.

STEP 18. Connector check: E-11 back door switch connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 19.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 19. Check the back door switch.


Refer to GROUP 42 - Back door assembly .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 20.
Replace the door switch.

STEP 20. Connector check: D-421 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 21.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 21. Check the wiring harness between E-11 back door switch connector terminal No.1 and D-421 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.37.


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check intermediate connector D-237 and repair if necessary.

  • Check the input line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 22.
Repair the wiring harness between the door switch and the ETACS-ECU.

STEP 22. Retest the system.


Check that all the all door switch signals are received normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the ETACS-ECU.
