Even 4WD vehicle is never almighty against water ingress. If water intrudes into the electrics, the vehicle cannot be driven. A malfunction is caused when the brake, the clutch, or the lubrication system is contaminated with water or dirt. Just in case the vehicle must be waded or has been waded, perform the following inspections and maintenance.
Before wading
1.Check the dust boots and the breather hoses for tears or damage, and repair if necessary. 2.Grease the front suspension, the steering gearbox, the tie-rod end and the propeller shaft.
After wading
1.Check the items below for any malfunction, and clean, replace or grease if necessary.
Water, dirt or sand ingress in the starter motor, the clutch release cylinder, the rear drum brake, the clutch lines, the brake lines, or the fuel lines.
The front and rear differential oil, or transmission and transfer fluid/oil is mixed with water.
