caution When the engine assembly replacement is performed, use the M.U.T.-III to initialise the learning value (Refer to GROUP 00 - Precautions Before Service, Initialisation Procedure for Learning Value in MPI Engine ).
Pre-removal Operation
  • Fuel Line Pressure Reduction (Refer to GROUP 13B - On-vehicle Service, How to Reduce Pressurized Fuel Lines ).
  • Hood Removal (Refer to GROUP 42A - Hood ).
  • Engine Oil Draining (Refer to GROUP 12 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Oil Change ).
  • Air Cleaner Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 15 - Air Cleaner ).
  • Battery and Battery Box Removal (Refer to GROUP 54A - Battery ).
  • Cooling Fan and Cooling Fan Pulley Removal (Refer to GROUP 14 - Radiator Fan ).
  • Radiator Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 14 - Radiator ).
  • Front Catalytic Converter (LH) and (RH) Removal (Refer to GROUP 15 - Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).

Post-installation Operation
  • Front Catalytic Converter (LH) and (RH) Installation (Refer to GROUP 15 - Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).
  • Radiator Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 14 - Radiator ).
  • Cooling Fan and Cooling Fan Pulley Installation (Refer to GROUP 14 - Radiator Fan ).
  • Battery and Battery Box Installation (Refer to GROUP 54A - Battery ).
  • Air Cleaner Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 15 - Air Cleaner ).
  • Engine Oil Refilling (Refer to GROUP 12 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Oil Change ).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS

1.Check that all cables, hoses and wiring harness connectors are disconnected from the engine.

2.Lift the special tool engine hanger balancer (MB991454) slowly to remove the engine assembly upwards from the engine compartment.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

1.Use special tool engine hanger balancer (MB991454) to lift the engine assembly in the same manner as removal.
2.Install the engine assembly, being careful not to pinch the cables, hoses or wiring harness connectors.
