REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION



Pre-removal Operation
  • Engine Oil Draining (Refer to GROUP 12 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Oil Change ).
  • Front Differential Carrier Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 26 - Differential Carrier and Free Wheeling Clutch ).
  • Power Steering Gear Box Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 37 - Power Steering Gear Box Linkage ).
  • Front Catalytic Converter (LH) and (RH) Removal (Refer to GROUP 15 - Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).
  • Starter Assembly Removal (Refer to GROUP 16 - Starting System, Starter Motor Assembly ).

Post-installation Operation
  • Starter Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 16 - Starting System, Starter Motor Assembly ).
  • Front Catalytic Converter (LH) and (RH) Installation (Refer to GROUP 15 - Exhaust Pipe and Main Muffler ).
  • Power Steering Gear Box Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 37 - Power Steering Gear Box Linkage ).
  • Front Differential Carrier Assembly Installation (Refer to GROUP 26 - Differential Carrier and Free Wheeling Clutch ).
  • Engine Oil Refilling (Refer to GROUP 12 - On-vehicle Service, Engine Oil Change ).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT



<<A>> ENGINE OIL PAN REMOVAL


1.Remove the engine oil pan mounting bolts.

2.
caution Do not use the special tool oil pan FIPG cutter (MD998727). It will damage the engine oil pan (aluminium made).
Screw the bolts (M10) into the bolt holes of engine oil pan shown in the figure, then remove the engine oil pan.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT



>>A<< ENGINE OIL PAN INSTALLATION


1.Remove sealant from the engine oil pan and cylinder block surfaces.
2.Degrease the sealant-coated surface and the engine oil pan mating surface of the cylinder block.

3.Apply a bead of the sealant to the cylinder block mating surface of the engine oil pan as shown.
Specified sealant: ThreeBond 1217G or equivalent
note Install the engine oil pan immediately after applying sealant.
4.Install the engine oil pan to the cylinder block.

caution
  • The bolt holes for bolts 13 and 14 in the illustration are cut away on the transmission side. Be careful not to insert these bolts at an angle.
  • After the installation, until a sufficient period of time (one hour or more) elapses, do not apply the engine oil or water to the sealant application area or start the engine.
Tighten the engine oil pan mounting bolts to the specified torque in order of the numbers shown in the illustration.
Tightening torque: 9.5 ± 2.5 N·m
6.Tighten the engine oil pan mounting bolts of the transmission connection side to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 48 ± 6 N·m
