REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Pre-removal Operation
  • Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor Removal (Refer to GROUP 17 - Emission Control, DPF System Sensors ).
  • Solenoid Valve, Vacuum Pipe and Hose Removal.
  • Fuel Injector Assembly Removal.

Post-installation Operation
  • Fuel Injector Assembly Installation.
  • Solenoid Valve, Vacuum Pipe and Hose Installation.
  • Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor Installation (Refer to GROUP 17 - Emission Control, DPF System Sensors ).

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS



>>A<< ROCKER COVER GASKET/ROCKER COVER ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION


1.Remove all the residual sealant and the engine oil from the rocker cover, the cylinder head and the timing chain case mounting surface carefully. Then degrease them.
2.Install the rocker cover gasket to the rocker cover.

3.To the joints between the cylinder head and the timing chain case, apply the sealant as shown in the figure.
Specified sealant: ThreeBond 1217G or equivalent
note Install the rocker cover immediately applying sealant.

4.5.Tighten the rocker cover mounting bolts to the specified torque in the order of number shown in the figure.
Tightening torque: 3.0 ± 1.0 N·m

caution After the installation, until a sufficient period of time (one hour or more) elapses, do not apply the oil or water to the sealant application area or start the engine.
Tighten again the rocker cover mounting bolts to the specified torque in the order of number shown in the figure.
Tightening torque: 5.5 ± 0.5 N·m

Clamp the hose with the hose clip, and cover the assembly with the breather hose pad. Then secure it with the snap button.
