INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

>>A<< CRANKSHAFT PULLEY CENTRE BOLT INSTALLATION

1.Using special tool Flywheel stopper (MD998781), hold the drive plate.

2.Wipe off the dirt on the crankshaft pulley, the front flange, the crankshaft sprocket, the thread hole of the crankshaft as shown in the figure using a rag, and then degrease the areas.
note Degrease them to prevent drop in the friction coefficient of the pressed area, which is caused by oil adhesion.
3.Install the front flange and the crankshaft pulley.
4.Wipe off the dirt on the crankshaft pulley washer and the crankshaft pulley centre bolt as shown in the figure using a rag.
5.Apply an adequate and minimum amount of engine oil to the threads of the crankshaft pulley centre bolt and the lower area of the flange.
6.Install the crankshaft pulley washer to the crankshaft pulley centre bolt.

7.Tighten the crankshaft pulley centre bolt according to the following procedure.
(1) Tighten the crankshaft pulley centre bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 110 N·m
(2)
caution Make sure to apply a paint mark not on the crankshaft pulley washer but on the crankshaft pulley. The crankshaft pulley washer may rotate with the crankshaft pulley centre bolt.
As shown in the illustration "A", apply paint marks on a corner of the crankshaft pulley centre bolt and on the crankshaft pulley.
(3)
caution
  • If the crankshaft pulley centre bolt is turned less than 60°, proper fastening performance may not be achieved. Be careful to tighten the crankshaft pulley centre bolt exactly 60°.
  • If the crankshaft pulley centre bolt is overtightened (exceeding 60°), remove the bolt to start from the beginning again according to the procedure.
Tighten the crankshaft pulley centre bolt by 60°. Make sure the paint mark of crankshaft pulley centre bolt is aligned with the paint mark of crankshaft pulley as shown in the illustration "B".
(4) Loosen the crankshaft pulley centre bolt fully.
(5)
caution Do not confuse with the paint mark applied on the first procedure.
Repeat procedure (1)-(3).

>>B<< ACCESSORY MOUNT STAY INSTALLATION

1.Tighten the accessory mount stay bolts to the specified torque in the order shown in the figure.
Tightening torque: 20 ± 5 N·m
