Code No. P0500: Vehicle Speed Signal System

FUNCTION

• The engine-ECU receives vehicle speed signal from ABS-ECU via the CAN communication.
  

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

• More than 2 seconds have passed since the engine starting sequence was completed.
  
• CAN communication is normal
  
• Battery positive voltage is more than 11 V and is less than 16.5 V.
  

• The vehicle speed information from ABS-ECU is abnormal for 2 seconds.
  

PROBABLE CAUSES

• Failed ABS-ECU.
  
• Failed engine-ECU
  

	Perform troubleshooting of the ABS (Refer to GROUP 35B - Troubleshooting - Diagnosis Code Chart ).

	Go to Step 2.

	Go to Step 3.

	Replace the ABS-ECU.

	Replace the engine-ECU.

	Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions ).
