Code No. P0219: Engine Over Speed Condition

OPERATION

Refer to Code No. P0335: Crank Angle Sensor System .

FUNCTION

The engine-ECU monitors the engine speeds based on the signals from the crank angle sensor.
The engine-ECU checks whether the engine speeds are too high.

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

Check Condition

Ignition switch is in "ON" position.

Judgement Criterion

Engine speed is 5,300 r/min or more

FAIL-SAFE AND BACKUP FUNCTION

The throttle valve is closed (Fixed opening degree).
The engine is stopped (The fuel injection and pump pressure feed are stopped).

PROBABLE CAUSE

Failed engine-ECU

Q. Is any other diagnosis code than P0219 set?

	Inspection chart for diagnosis codes (Refer to ).

	Replace the engine-ECU.
