REMOVAL SERVICE POINT

<<A>> ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR REMOVAL

Use special tool water temperature sensor wrench (MB992042) to remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

>>A<< ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR INSTALLATION

1.
caution Be careful not to damage the connector portion (made of resin) of the sensor with the tool.
Remove any sealant that may be remaining on the engine coolant temperature sensor or the threaded hole in the water outlet fitting.

2.Apply the sealant to the thread of engine coolant temperature sensor.
Specified sealant: ThreeBond 1324N or equivalent
3.In the same manner as for removal, using special tool water temperature sensor wrench (MB992042), tighten to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 30 ± 10 N·m

>>B<< FRONT UPPER CASE STIFFENER INSTALLATION

1.Temporarily tighten the front upper case stiffener with bolts.
2.Tighten the bolt A located at the front upper case side to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 50 ± 5 N·m
3.Next, tighten the bolt B located at the cylinder block side to the specified torque.
Tightening torque: 50 ± 5 N·m

>>C<< O-RING / WATER PIPE INSTALLATION

caution
  • Care must be taken not to permit engine oil or other greases to adhere to the O-ring.
  • When inserting the water pipe, check to be sure that there is no sand, dirt, etc. on its inner surface.

Fit the O-ring to the groove in the water pipe. Then lubricate the rim of O-ring or the inside of water pipe fixing position with water, and then insert the water pipe to the water pump.
