VARIABLE GEOMETRY ACTUATOR CHECK <4N1>

1.Remove the vacuum hose from the variable geometry actuator. Connect the hand vacuum pump to the nipple.

2.
caution In order to avoid damage to the diaphragm, do not apply a vacuum of -60 kPa or higher.
Apply the vacuum pressure (of approximately -57 kPa) until the variable geometry actuator link touches the stopper bolt. This allows the actuator rod to fully shrink.
3.Leak the vacuum pressure gradually as much as possible to check the vacuum pressure when the variable geometry actuator rod moves approximately 1 mm in the extension direction.
Standard value: -52.0 - -55.0 kPa
4.If the vacuum pressure significantly deviates from the standard value, check the actuator or the variable nozzle. Replace the turbocharger assembly if necessary.
