A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR CHECK

A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR 1 CHECK

1.Remove the drain plug (overflow plug) and overflow tube and then drain fluid (refer to ).

2. Remove the transmission oil pan, and remove the A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 from the valve body (refer to GROUP 23B - Oil Pan and Valve Body Assembly Removal and Installation ).
note A/T fluid temperature sensor 1 is incorporated in the wiring harness.

3.Immerse the sensor in hot A/T fluid.

4.
caution Be careful not to damage a connector terminal.
Disconnect the A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector.
5.Using the special tool (MB991709), measure the resistance between A/T control solenoid valve assembly connector terminals No.9 and No.10.

Standard value:
Measurement terminal No.
Normal condition (check condition)
9 -10
Approx. 6.5 kΩ (at 10°C)
Approx. 3.5 kΩ (at 25°C)
Approx. 0.25 kΩ (at 110°C)
6.If the resistance is not the standard value, replace the transmission wiring harness (refer to GROUP 23B - Oil Pan and Valve Body Assembly Removal and Installation ).

A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR 2 CHECK

1.Disconnect the A/T fluid temperature sensor 2 connector.
2.Remove the A/T fluid temperature sensor (refer to ).

3.Immerse the sensor in hot A/T fluid.
4.Measure the resistance between the terminals of the A/T fluid temperature sensor 2.
Standard value:
    657.1 - 726.3 kΩ (at 115°C)
    584.8 - 646.4 kΩ (at 120°C)
    339.5 - 375.3 kΩ (at 145°C)
    277.9 - 307.1 kΩ (at 155°C)
5.If the resistance deviates from the standard value greatly, replace the A/T fluid temperature sensor 2.
