Pre-removal Operation
  • Under Skid Plate and Engine Room Under Cover Removal (Refer to GROUP 51 - Under Cover .)
  • A/T Fluid Draining (Refer to .)
  • Front and Rear Propeller Shaft Removal (Refer to GROUP 25 - Propeller Shaft .)
  • Exhaust Centre Pipe Connection (Refer to GROUP 17 - Catalytic Converter .)
  • Transmission Control Cable Connection Removal (Refer to .)
  • A/T Fluid Cooler Side Tube Assembly Removal (Refer to .)

Post-installation Operation
  • A/T Fluid Cooler Side Tube Assembly Installation (Refer to .)
  • Transmission Control Cable Connection Installation (Refer to .)
  • Exhaust Centre Pipe Connection (Refer to GROUP 17 - Catalytic Converter .)

Support the transmission and transfer assembly with a transmission jack

No.2 crossmember and rear engine support insulator (Refer to GROUP 32 - Rear Engine Mounting .)

<<A>> SUPPORT THE TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER ASSEMBLY



1.Install the special tool MB991927 (transmission jack attachment) to the transmission jack.
2.Place the transmission assembly on the special tool (MB991927).
3.Support the transmission and transfer assembly.

<<B>> STARTER MOUNTING BOLT REMOVAL


Remove the starter with its connector connected. Keep the starter fixed to the engine side (Refer to GROUP 16 - Starter Motor Assembly ).

<<C>> SUPPORTING THE ENGINE



caution Support the engine assembly by inserting a wooden piece between the front suspension front crossmember assembly and the engine oil pan to prevent the engine assembly from being tilted significantly when the transmission assembly is separated from the engine assembly.
